Cindy issued us a Fashion Challenge: Personal Fashion Secrets. We picked our go to items or tricks to dress something up or down.

Hadas

Ethnicity/Skin Color: Middle Eastern/Light brown
Hair Type: Medium thickness, Curly

Fashion Tricks HadasFS1: Fun Flats
Price: From $14.99-$30.00

FS2: Multi Ponytail Hairstyle- I used to do this when I was in 7th grade when my hair was too short curly I’d brush it post shower and put ponytail after ponytail, spaced out an inch or so, down to the bottom. Curly hair, imo, is an accessory in and of itself, so sometimes I’ll attempt a cleaner look. I brush my already dry curly hair so it expands and looks super thick and then I put it in the ponytails and it completes a look.
Price: Just money for the hair ties.

FS3: T+Shirt plus any Pencil Skirt, or T-Shirt Dress plus a flowy Skirt. I love pencil skirts, but sometimes they are too formal for going out casually so I pair it with a graphic t-shirt and it looks a little more relaxed. Also I have a few t-shirt dresses that really lack structure and are not flattering. Another minus is that the wind very easily blows them up. If I put a flowy skirt over the t-shirt dress it looks seamless and cute while also preventing Marilyn Monroe-ing. Sometimes I add suspenders for funs.
Price: Varies, but usually from $10-$60

Cindy

Ethnicity/Skin Color: White
Hair Type: Dark brown, wavy

Fashion Secrets Cindy Scarves and Red Heels

FS1: Scarves! Thin printed scarves instantly upgrade a casual outfit to a more professional look, and they’re useful to shield against smells (you know that office kitchen can get pretty aggressive — or, in my case, airborne food allergies). It’s also a great retail therapy purchase, because you’ll wear the scarf a lot and they’re pretty cheap and in any store. Weird that I wear more scarves in perpetual LA summer than I ever did in the wintery Northeast!
Price: around $20

FS2: Red heels. Best way to add a pop of color to a little black dress, or add a bit of sass to any outfit.
Price: whatever your budget is, I’m sure you can find a pair.

FS3: Side braids. A great way to keep your hair nice and work-appropriate when it’s wet from a morning shower, and gives you beachy waves around lunch time. Or, if you want to look casual but strong (thanks, Katniss) a side braid will do in any social gathering.
Price: Free! I don’t even always use hair ties.

Estee

Ethnicity/Skin Color: White/ Very Fair
Hair Type:   Very thick and wavy
Skin Type: Combination
Expertise/Usage: Pepper Potts (practical)
Budget: Drugstore, Avon and occasionally Department Store

Fashion Secrets Estee

FS1:  Black leggings. Most girls like a little black dress because it’s versatile. I like black pants for the same reason. You can dress them up or down just by changing your top.

FS2:  Embellished or Dressy tops. I like tops that have a little something extra. A beaded, draped or trimmed neckline can add another dimension to an outfit.

FS3:   Step up my make up. For typical daytime makeup I tend to keep it pretty simple. I use a little eyeliner and a bit of tinted lip balm or a light colored gloss. But when I’m going for a dressier look I like to add to my makeup. I’ll use some eyeshadow, regular lipstick and blush. The shades I go with vary depending on the event.
Sold By:   Most Department Stores,  Drugstore, and Avon
