I’m back from my break and this is my BRAND NEW section on Common Room! Instead of my Pick of the Week there will now be monthly posts where I introduce you a maximum of 4 fresh songs I found in that month! So let’s get started with August.
Foals – Mountain at My Gates
This was one of the first songs released from Foals’ fourth studio album What Went Down. While the title track is also great, Mountain at My Gates is my personal favourite so far. This band has changed so much since their first album but have kept their music at a consistent quality. I’m excited to see them again in November (tickets sold out within minutes – I was lucky!)
Chvrches – Leave a Trace
I’m very excited to hear new music from one of my favourite bands! What I’ve heard from the new album Every Open Eye so far sounds just as 80s as The Bones of What You Believe and I love that. This song starts off sounding sinister but transforms into something more positive sounding than what I’m used to from Chvrches. I can’t wait to hear the rest.
