March: The 1975 + The Sound of Music

In March I took a step back from the music because I had 2 colds in quick succession, making wearing headphones with sounds coming out of them impossible. But before I succumbed, I managed to choose some songs for you!

The 1975 – The Sound
The 1975 are finally back with their second album I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It and it’s quite a mouthful. The Sound is my favourite so far!

I really liked some of the songs on their first album…some are not quite enough for me though. Now this one might be a bit more up my street with its retro 80s sound! I have only listened to a few of the new singles so far and I like them all in their own way but will finally do my duty and listen to the rest of the album at work this week.

The Sound Of Music – My Favourite Things
This is not a new song by any means but it is fairly new to me and it’s been on my playlist this month. I’ve never seen The Sound of Music (even though I tried, I promise) so I only knew this song from a Christmas TV advert. When I finally found out it’s sung by Julie Andrews in its original form I was pleasantly surprised because Julie is a queen.

Mary Poppins is one of my all time favourite Disney films and my goal in life is to be like Julie when I grow up! So until I can finally watch The Sound of Music I will keep this song on my playlist, pretending I’m Julie as I sing along.
