March #FairytaleRC Update

book review challenge bookworms read

Hi, guys. Estee here with a quick update on where I am on my list for the reading challenge. For a refresher on my original list click here.

Untamed blue eye mockupI finally finished my first book, Splintered, just over a week or so ago. (You can check out my review later this week.) Which is right around the time I learned the release date of the novella that takes place in the future after final full book in the series takes place. The title is Untamed and it releases in January 2016. Sadly it won’t be out in time for this challenge but the cover art has me pretty excited for it.

The next book on my list is also a novella in this series. It’s called The Moth in the Mirror. This is another re-read for me, but I really am looking forward to it.

What’s Next on YOUR List?

Lindsey, checking in! My #FairyTaleRC is going great! My first retelling was Enchantment (review here) and now I am half way into Daughter of the Forest (Sevenwaters #1) by Juliet Marillier.

daughter-of-the-forestThe novel started off a little slow but now that I am really deep into the tale I am hooked. This story is not for the faint of heart. If you are not familiar with the tale of the Six Swans, the princess’s brothers are turned to swans. She is given a difficult task and must remain in complete silence until it is completed if she hopes to break the enchantment. In Marillier’s version, Sorcha’s (the princess) tale is so heartbreaking I had to take a little break from theretelling. The optimist in me strongly hopes things look up for her.

I have added a few books to my read list. Based on the Readerly Geek’s post Top 10 Books for Adults Who Like Fairy Tales  I am really interested in checking out The Girls at the Kingfisher Club by Genevieve Valentine, Boy, Snow, Bird by Helen Oyeyemi, and While Beauty Slept by Elizabeth Blackwell.
