Fall Wardrobe Budget Challenge

We each picked our own budgets for a Fall Wardrobe. Check out what we chose!

Cindy:

Personal Budget: $150.00 for now.

Love buying new fall boots, but I don’t need any and nothing’s catching my eye. My big desire is — and always has been — for a shearling jacket. LOVE shearling. I bought a few jeans and summery dresses recently, which I will wear into fall and pair with boots and a blazer.

Personal Budget: $300.00

Fall has been very warm lately so I needed some items to spice up my current wardrobe. I got a few camis from Forever 21. They are very cheap, comfortable, come in many colors, & provide good coverage/lining. I also got a few white t-shirts from Macy’s because they look great tucked into my colorful pencil skirts. Century 21 has great stuff and I’m obsessed with shopping there so I got a cute cardigan/blazer and a black bandage skirt (the picture is not the actual skirt I got, but it’s close enough). Then I needed fun flats. Forever 21 has really cheap colorful ones that are great for making an outfit pop, but they don’t offer any support so I got two more. A striped blue and white d’orsay flat from Macy’s. It is important to note they are by Tommy Hilfiger so they have a cute H on them which I enjoy. Lastly, I purchased black flats from Macy’s that have a suede leather look and have an ankle strap.

One note, with all new shoes you must stock up on Band Aid Blister Blocker! It is the best for preventing blisters and pain (and is also called Band Aid Friction Blocker sometimes).

Vanessa:

Personal Budget: Around $300.00

For this challenge I made my dream fall look then worked it down an Old Navy budget.  Now, I have a super advantage of being a telecommuter, so I usually only have to worry about my top half as that is only seen in a video conference.  I mostly need a few more pairs of jeans, a few more TOMS, a stack of tanks, a nice blazer,  and a couple of cardigans.  Then I find some great funky necklaces in the Eastern Market in DC or Etsy.

Jeans – Levi’s $40 – Boot cut & curvy
Tank – Old Navy $8 for 2
Blazer – J.Crew $178 …but if you head to your favorite thrift store, you can find some great velvet blazers.  (I got mine from my mom.  Black, euro cut, circa 1965 – it’s FAB!)
Shoes – TOMS $45
