Fairytale Reading Challenge aka #FairytaleRC

Fairytale Reading Challenge Books

Hi guys! It’s Estee here to share a fun reading challenge I’m signing up for this year. It’s called Fairytale Retelling Reading Challenge and it’s being hosted by The Daily Prophecy. As you may have guessed by the name of the challenge the participant is to read (or reread) books that are retellings or reboots of fairytales. The best part is that the reader can decide what is considered a fairytale!

Since this is my first reading challenge, I’m starting with the Magic Mirror level which is 5-9 books. If I feel like it’s going well maybe later in the year I’ll bump up to Big Bad Wolf which is 10-15. I already have some books in mind. I love A.G. Howard’s Splintered series (one of my past Obsessions!) and Gregory Maguire has several retellings of various fairy tales I’ve been wanting to check out. I can’t wait until January 1st now so I can head to fairytale land. Hope to see you there!

Will you be joining me on my journey down the rabbit hole?

Lindsey here as well! Estee shared the Fairytale Retelling Reading Challenge with me and I decided to join her. I am a huge fan of Disney, Fairy tales, and all things Hans Christian Anderson. This is my first challenge as well so I am starting off with the Prince Charming level (1-4 books) but I hope to make it to Magic Mirror like Estee and read at least 5 books.

I have a book list started and I already have my first book ready to go. Orson Scott Card’s Enchantment is a retelling of Russian folk tales and Sleeping Beauty. It has been my favorite since high school and I have been wanting to delve into it again. Now I have a reason!

What would you read for this challenge?lindsey_circle
