Amanda Palmer's The Art of Asking Female Perspective

Kristin of My Life as a Teacup joins us for a special NonFicNov episode! She recommended discussing Amanda Palmer’s The Art of Asking, a memoir about how to allow your community to help you and more.

Amanda Palmer is a performance artist, a singer from The Dresden Dolls, Evelyn Evelyn, The Grand Theft Orchestra, and many other projects. She made a pretty popular TED Talk recently, named The Art of Asking which sparked the idea for this book. (She also happens to be married to Neil Gaiman.)

On this episode, we discuss what we liked and disliked about Amanda Palmer’s style. We also touched on the specific art of asking, whether in work situations, socially, or otherwise. We discuss the specific ways Palmer helps females by encouraging them to ask and also what it means to be a woman who asks in the workplace.
